# Privacy Policy – QA Journey Recorder

Last updated: 2026-07-16

MG Systems and Software LLC (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides QA Journey Recorder, a Chrome extension for recording manual QA test evidence.

## 1. What the extension does

QA Journey Recorder helps testers capture manual QA sessions (click steps, screenshots, notes, and triage details) and export a local HTML/PDF report.

## 2. Data we process

The extension may process the following data categories while a user runs a test session:

– Web history and page context (for example URL, title, timestamp of captured actions)

– User activity related to QA recording (for example user-triggered clicks and flags)

– Website content shown on pages under test (for example screenshot evidence)

– User-entered test metadata (for example Tester ID, Test Case ID, Run ID, environment, notes, triage fields)

The extension is user-triggered. Recording starts only after the user clicks “Start Recording Session”.

## 3. How data is stored

– Session data is stored locally in the browser using `chrome.storage.local`.

– Exported reports are saved locally to the user device by explicit user action.

– In the standard build, data is not automatically uploaded to vendor servers.

## 4. How we use data

Data is used only for the extension’s single purpose:

– capture QA evidence

– let users review and annotate evidence

– generate downloadable QA reports

We do not use extension data for advertising, profiling, or unrelated analytics.

## 5. Data sharing and selling

We do not sell user data.

We do not transfer user data to third parties except as required by law or as explicitly directed by the user as part of their own report-sharing process outside the extension.

## 6. Data retention

– Active session data remains local until export or session clear.

– Preference fields may remain in local browser storage for user convenience until removed.

– Users and administrators can clear extension storage through browser/enterprise controls.

## 7. Security

The extension package contains bundled local code and assets only. No remote runtime code is executed in the standard build.

## 8. User and admin controls

Users or IT admins can:

– stop using the extension at any time

– uninstall the extension

– clear local extension storage

– manage exported report files under organization policy
